Then you should throw out most of the writings of most of the alchemists, including Paracelsus. Anyway, Lapidus wasn't one of the misleaders.

The philosophers often gave things incorrect names to purposely hide and mislead, but Vinegar of antimony could be the liquid obtained by a dry distillation of the ore, as described by Lapidus. The chemistry has some similarities to plant kingdom vinegar.
